Every year I like to put together a playlist for Halloween/my birthday/Samhain and this is my first year sans spotify. I was a little intimidated but digging through albums and hunting for songs made me feel like a radio DJ in the '70's. I've picked some new tunes, some old tunes and some new-to-me tunes! Enjoy!

As I put this list together, I started to notice a theme: an ownership of darkness. Eartha becomes a petty villain, Nina a witch and Bjork something inhuman entirely. Samhain is a time when the veil between worlds grows thin. Many take the opportunity to commune with the dead, but it's also a chance to honor the veiled parts of yourself. Acknowledge the parts of you that hurt, that are angry, the parts that you're secretly proud of but are too shy to flaunt. Do these parts need attention? Is there a problem you're avoiding? Are there goals you want to pursue that life has led you to forget? There is power to be won in the hidden corners of your heart if you only take the time to explore.
